RECYCLED METALS & SUSTAINABILITY

In April 2020, I made the decision to switch to recycled and recyclable alternatives in as many of my designs and packaging as possible. Jordan Lily HQ is committed to continue looking for ways to reduce waste and have less of an environmental impact. So making the swap was a no brainer!

IS RECYCLED SILVER THE SAME AS STERLING SILVER?

RECYCLED SILVER

My recycled silver is 100% sterling silver, which is sourced from all kinds of silver scrap, including medical equipment and machinery. It has the same quality and working properties as sterling silver, it's just recycled!

As of 2023, items are labelled 'Recycled Sterling Silver 925' when they are 100% recycled (woohoo!) and 'Solid Sterling Silver 925' for pieces that contain both recycled silver and ethically sourced silver components.

IS RECYCLED GOLD CHEAPER?

RECYCLED GOLD

The gold used in my Gold Vermeil designs and any pieces using Solid Gold are sourced from suppliers who use 100% recycled gold. The gold used in any Gold Filled pieces has been ethically sourced and is conflict free.

PACKAGING

There are three things Jordan Lily HQ prioritises when it comes to packaging: it needs to ensure that your jewellery arrives to you safe and secure, it needs to be mindful of it's impact on the world, and it needs to be pretty (because we strongly believe in the joy of happy post!)

We currently use as much recycled and recyclable packaging as possible, our last remaining plastic is used in our heat-sealed packaging for earring hygiene reasons. Our foiled gift boxes are biodegradable, compostable and recyclable, and are made from 40% recycled materials.
